The LEI Festival has been taking place in Cagliari, Sardinia since 2016 and represents an important space, locally and abroad, dedicated to non-fiction. Every edition sees the participation of writers and artists of national and international renown. The festival’s objective is to promote the passion for books through an impactful event: a sort of roundtable for creative thought that directly engages the audience, demonstrating that a cultural event can rise to the challenge of proposing concrete solutions to the problems of our age. It is an event with a strong social connotation, aiming to explpore themes such as the relationship between individuals, as well as that between them and their environment, through the promotion of reading, even in spaces where this is normally absent. All this with the hope that reading can become a means of comfort, an aid for survival and an overall improvement of the human condition; a means of accessing one’s submerged thoughts, opening new pathways to personal growth, leading to a space where the highest qualities of the human being can move to the forefront.
Each edition proposes new themes from different aspects of human activity: literature, philosophy, psychology, sustainable economics, science, art and theatre.
These are the challenges taken on by the Lei Festival, which begins with days dedicated to meetings with authors, workshops, as well as opportunities for conviviality and integration, with activities for youth. All this without losing touch with its true vocation: providing tools to help improve the world we live in.
