1980 marked the birth of Cagliari’s Jazz in Sardegna festival, a trailblazer in the history of live music on the Island, which has staged numerous memorable concerts by world jazz stars over the years.

2005 saw the launch of a new initiative, European Jazz Expo, a successful format at European level.
